Fashion Friday- Gel Polish

Okay ladies, I know you have missed Brandon's wonderful fashion posts. I have too. Brandon will be back with us soon, but I just had to share my latest find. Gel polish. I have natural nails and I LOVE nail polish but it generally chips off about 10 minutes after I polish my nails. That is if I don't smudge it first. So When I read in Style Magazine that you could get this polish that REALLY would last two WHOLE WEEKS I had to try it. I know what you are thinking " She has time to read magazines?" Well I actually just look at the pictures and rum the perfume on my wrists. But I love OPI nail polish and they we advertising this as "Only available in salons." So I headed down to my favorite nail salon and asked them if they did gel polish. When they got over the fact that I had not been in there in like 8 months, they were very excited for me to get the gel polish. I was kind of surprised at the cost $35, but I figured if it really lasted it would be totally worth it.

Now I am a typing, dish washing, hands in the garden kind of girl. I was not at all convinced that this would REALLY stay on for two weeks. And it didn't...it stayed on for THREE WEEKS! Now a word of warning you HAVE to have them remove the nail color and it is not an easy feat. But they bake this stuff on and it STAYS! So of course I then had to see if I could find a way to get this gel polish for cheaper. So I went to Walmart and started checking around. I could buy the UV light thingy for like $58. Then buy the special nail colors for like $9 a bottle, which I guess over time would be cheaper but I was a little disillusioned.

Then good old Dr. OZ came through for me. Dr OZ showed this top coat that is like $22 and you bake it on with a 60 watt bulb from your lamp, dry in three minutes.  I can totally lock myself in the bathroom for three minutes to have an AWESOME manicure. Now you need to use their nail polish to remove the nail polish but you can use ANY POLISH you happen to have. So WHO are these amazing people who have invented a way for even Mommy's to have great nails? LCN nail polish sealer. I am going to order it myself and see if it works like they say. But until then I will keep getting my nails done every three weeks at the salon. I am telling you ladies if you love painted nails and hate to walk around with chips this is the ANSWER for you.
