Save The Boobies!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, every Wednesday in October we will be featuring stories regarding yourself, your Mom, daughter, sister, grandmother, a close friend who may be suffering with this evil killer. In addition we'll highlight the organization that supports your loved one's fight.

We applaud all the great organizations who have positioned themselves on the forefront of the cause.

One in particular that we'd like to highlight is, Florida Hospital's Pink Army.

Join the Pink Army and be part of a unified effort to end breast cancer. As a Florida Hospital foot soldier, you will play an integral role in bringing education, awareness and hope to the people of our community.

The following little story was submitted by Cheyenne Marquardt from Flagler County Florida. Real Army of Moms wants to thank you for the wonderful story about your Grandmother's battle with Breast Cancer.

Every morning I wake up to the sunrise. This particular morning I went to the beach to watch the sunrise. If I could describe its beauty with two words, those words would be innocent and pure. I used innocent to describe the light cotton candy colored pink and blue, that playfully swirled together in the sky. While gazing up at the crescent moon, I saw the purest hint of it smiling down upon me, which made me think of my grandmother’s tiny smile and pure hearted soul.

She has the most kindred of spirit, but unfortunately My Grandmother, Romanita Monin Garcia is undergoing a rough start into her breast cancer recovery. Beginning with her three surgeries in two weeks and now I hear she has caught two infections. Hopefully the hospital is able to keep her immune system balanced to keep her fighting.

I’m afraid for her, because after her recovery from the surgeries, she will be starting the radiation procedure. Which completely knocks down your immune system. For now all we can provide for her is our strength, our positive thoughts and encouragement, and of course our loving prayers to help aid her pain.

We can safely say that a Real Army of Moms can send a lot of powerful thoughts and prayers your Grandma's way, and they will.

What do you expect from a very compassionate gang of the most powerful three letter word in the English Vocabulary? Mom =)

Feel free to email us your story about your loved one and be sure to send a couple of pictures. It may end up here next Wednesday.

Until next time... Adam G
