The
"Everything Italian! Monterey's Old Fisherman's Wharf Columbus Day
Weekend Celebration" will highlight special Italian dishes featured at
the many Wharf restaurants in honor of the holiday. On Saturday,
October 12th and Sunday, October 13th, there will be many fun family
activities, including special "guests' from history including Queen
Isabella and her court, Christopher Columbus, the Knights of Columbus,
local performers and entertainment, live music, and much, much more.
Experience a
"voyage" on the seas with one of the Wharf's Whale Watching boats, deep
sea fishing boats, sailboats or the Little Mermaid Glass Bottom boat.
Come see Coastie the Safety Boat on Fisherman's Wharf and learn about
water safety in a fun way. Coastie is shaped like a real Coast Guard
Cutter and moves, speaks, listens, plays MP3's and activates his lights,
and water squirter all by remote control. He's perfect for hugs and
kisses from small friends. Plan your visit to the City of Monterey's
nearby historical sites that weekend, including walking and bus tours,
live battles, and more -- all open to the public for this special
celebration.
