I sell insurance for a living. Now you know. If you ever wondered or cared. But because of that I am often going to people I have never met before's houses. At Night. Alone. Doesn't sound very safe does it? Well lookie what I found to help me out:
What is React Mobile
In
an increasingly complex world, people need a way to easily call for help in the
event of an emergency. React Mobile is providing mobile security and peace of
mind to busy parents, students and employees on the go. The React Mobile app
turns your iPhone or Android smartphone into a powerful security device and
also allows users to report incidents and criminal activity. With the push of a
button an SOS alert with your GPS coordinates is sent to select emergency
contacts via SMS/text message, email and an alert can also be posted to
Facebook and Twitter. A growing number of people today have mobile phones, a
trusted, communications tool. React lets you turn your phone
into a powerful
lifeline.
The Story of React Mobile
React Mobile Co-Founder, Robb
Monkman, was inspired to create the mobile safety application after being held
at gunpoint during a home invasion while in college several years ago. Wanting
to do more for on and off campus safety he created a tool that could be used to
silently and discreetly alert a wide network, including the authorities, of an
emergency and its location. After testing several beta products in various
markets for over a year, the React Mobile safety app was finally launched in
March 2013.
React Mobile recently introduced a
new custom branding service that allows organizations to have their very own
branded security app to share with their members.
Uses
In Emergencies: The React Mobile
app turns your smartphone into a powerful safety tool and also allows users to
report incidents and criminal activity. With the push of a button an SOS alert
with a link to your GPS location is sent to select emergency contacts via text
message and email. Optionally users can choose to post an alert message to
their Facebook and Twitter accounts. Users are automatically prompted to call
911 if they trigger an SOS alert.
Everyday
Use: React
Mobile like other personal safety apps is a safety tool that you hope you never
have to use. We differentiate ourselves by providing users with a safety
feature for everyday use. Our premium “F_o_l_l_o_w_-_m_e_” _feature
allows users’ friends and family to track them in real-time whenever they are
concerned for their safety. People frequently feel unsafe and uncomfortable but
may not want to trigger an SOS alert or call 911. Examples include a realtor
meeting a new client for the first time in an unfamiliar place, a student
walking home along a dark pathway, a late night runner (or runner in the
woods), an online dater who is meeting a date for the first time. These are
just some examples of when people might want the peace of mind of knowing that
their trusted, self-selected contacts are tracking them in real-time. If an
emergency situation occurs a user can escalate to an SOS alert, however, if for
some reason the user can’t issue an alert (i.e. they are attacked), their
friends will know where they are if they go missing.
A
growing number of people today have mobile phones, a trusted communications
tool. React lets you turn your smartphone into a powerful lifeline.
