When I saw this book I picked it up specifically because it was written by Steven Savile who has written for Doctor Who, Torchwood, Primeval, and many other programs I love. He wrote the book with Steve Lockley has written the Sally Reardon Mysteries with Steven Savile as well.
The book opens with, the newly home from Afghanistan, Jack Stone walking into a bar of low repute to meet a guy of equally low repute about a job. The story reminded me in turns of the Big Sleep and a Jack Reacher Novel. But it was entirely enjoyable mystery with lots of twists and turns and a surprising ending that I was completely delighted with.
This is a definite read for all you mystery junkies like myself.
