The Midnight Mission and van der Hagen Enterprises Offer Grooming for Success

Did you know 90% of HR professionals believe a well-groomed appearance is the key to employment?

With LA County’s unemployment rate surpassed only by New York City, homeless adults often face rejection from employers simply because they aren’t clean-shaven. In response, van der Hagen Enterprises, manufacturer of premiere grooming products, is partnering with The Midnight Mission of Los Angeles to hold their first event on Skid Row: “Grooming for Success.”

On March 20 at 10 a.m., they’ll offer free shaves, haircuts, mock interviews and employment resources for 80 men enrolled in the shelter’s programs. With an overall goal of self-sufficiency, this event aims to empower and equip these men for full-time work.

van der Hagen will also donate a Luxury Shave Set and safety razor to each gentleman to help maintain a well-groomed and interview-ready appearance. The sets include hypoallergenic shave soap, an apothecary mug and a genuine boar-bristle brush. To support The Midnight Mission in serving the homeless, van der Hagen will also donate 400 gentle glycerin body soaps.
