Every so often in Hollywood there comes a kids movie that parents can enjoy and relate to on a completely different level. Despicable Me is just that kind of movie. From the first time I saw it in the theater, with Airborne, I have been in love with this movie. And of course with the Minions.
I know that I really could use a couple or 10 minions just to help around the house. There is dusting and cleaning and, well you know the general evil of housework that would be so nice to havedone by others. The more I watch Despicable Me I and II, the more I realize that I in fact do have two minions. They are called the Tech Monkey and Airborne. They fight, make messes and generally don't do what is asked, just like real minions.
So when the Minion Mayhem ride at Universal opened this weekend I had to go with the whole family and the Haydenator. Haydeator is Tech Monkey's friend of like 10 years. So I piled everyone in the car and off we went.
The line was a little long but we were endlessly entertained by the continuous feed on the flat screens dispersed though out the line. The ride is really designed for the younger kids but we all enjoyed the ride and the dance party at the end. I could have danced with the minions for hours but Agent Daddy was getting jealous so we departed. Once you depart the ride you are in Super Silly Fun Land. This is a great place for the kids to climb and jump and generally get all their energy out. I was enchanted by the colors and the integration of the movie. Universal Studios is offering a buy a day get the rest of 2014 right now and it is such a great deal. I recommended Universal Studios Back in November as a great place for Thanksgiving Break and with Spring Break and Summer Break right around the corner this deal is too good to pass up.
